Belfer Center research paper: Cyber Power by Joseph S. Nye
The Client: The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, MA
The Project: Create layout for research paper by senior faculty member and coordinate printing
The Details: I was given this assignment with no firm deadline, but a clear desire for it to have been completed yesterday, if you know what I mean. The Center had worked with a graphic designer to create a basic template for research papers, but I did not have access to the template source files. I recreated the template from scratch in InDesign; laid out the content of Professor Nye's paper, including creating the interior charts/exhibits and doing photo research for the cover; and posted a print-ready PDF to the Belfer Center website within 24 hours. After receiving approval from the author and the Center's Executive Director for Research, I coordinated its printing at the Center's chosen vendor in New Hampshire, making frequent trips for press checks until I was satisfied with the quality of the final product.
